Customized storage solutions include tuck-space with pull out access to the stand mixer at counter level.
Our clients love to hang out here with their morning coffee. The existing nook was added in the 70’s, and its dropped ceiling made it feel like an afterthought. We re-framed the ceiling and added skylights to create an open, inviting space. Adding banquette seating makes morning coffee cozy.
The main floor plan change involved moving the range to the opposite wall to allow separate work zones at the range and sink. To make room, we removed an old chimney and changed the double doors to the patio for a single door.
To maximize storage and return the cabinetry to a period look, we added continuous uppers over the window.
The powder bath received a light and airy update with a new glass shower surround.
We removed an unused chimney column and replaced french doors with a single door to the patio to make room for the range to relocate. We raised the dropped roof at the kitchen nook and added skylights and bench seating to create a spacious and inviting coffee nook.
