Our clients asked us to tackle two problem areas. On one side of the house we turned a guest bedroom with cramped bath and a tiny closet into an inviting ensuite, featuring a walk-in closet and spacious bath with a soaking tub. On the opposite side of the house, we turned a typical office and an unfinished storage area into a series of connected spaces, including a beautiful booklover’s haven, flex space for his and her hobbies, storage for rotating art pieces, exercise and sewing areas, and a super-convenient dog wash by the back door.

something special
The custom teak seat between tub and shower was set at the perfect height for the homeowner to shift from one space to another. It’s unique organic shape was hand-created by our carpenter for our client.
A new walk-in closet with dramatic uplighting above shows off a vaulted, white-washed ceiling.
We added a small work desk at the bedroom entry and crown molding to continue the pretty uplit ambiance.
The guest bath features a wet area with beautiful soaking tub and shower combination.
The low office ceiling was demolished to reveal the original vaulted ceiling. We added a new partition wall with windows up high, allowing light to be shared between spaces when the door is closed for sound control.
Her custom sewing center is designed with plenty of storage for sundries.
A raised dog wash is a convenient height for rinsing muddy feet without having to bend over. The pull-out step helps Keoni the Malamute step up. It stores away when not in use.
The piano anchors his hobby area, connecting to the booklovers’ office beyond. In between is a functional nook that houses a mutual printer, files and storage for art when it’s not on display.
This bedroom had a small closet, tiny ensuite bath, and "extra" space that wasn't being well-used. We started by relocating the hall closet and swapping the door to the bedroom to make room for a walk-in closet and a small work desk. We expanded the back of the room to create a bathroom with a roll-in shower and separate soaking tub.
We demo’d the wall between office and hobby areas to create a combined space. New walls further define her sewing & exercise area and his piano and art carving area. A mutual storage area between office and hobby spaces helps with sound control. The dog wash area is next to the side yard door - perfect for muddy winter days.
